Social media, forsooth. Tell you what, I’m getting far more out of Instagram and Twitter these days than Facebook, which … with the exception of a few friends who still take the time to write actual newsy posts … features little more than lowest common denominator copy & paste crap.
The shutdown? I got nuthin’. And if I did, who’d listen? Careful what you wish for, yadda yadda, but I’m kind of hoping it’ll be the FAA air traffic controllers who force the issue by stopping work en masse.
On the larger subject of MAGA hats and what they represent, I’ll just say that every time I see someone wearing one I expect a young boy in a brown shirt jump up on a beer garden table and start singing Tomorrow Belongs to Me.
The V-2 rocket, with its sleek cigar-shaped body, pointed nose, and swept-back fins, entered the imaginations of people the world over. It lent its iconic shape to the science fiction spaceships of the 1950s and 60s, and still has a firm grip on our dreams.
Did anyone ever really think invoking Hitler and the Holocaust was a sure-fire way to shut down the other side in a debate? I ask this because both progressives and conservatives have been Hitlering one another’s arguments since the end of the Third Reich and to my knowledge it’s never once worked.
You don’t promote partisan politics or religion on duty or in uniform. The Uniform Code of Military Justice makes that perfectly clear.
