I made one of my periodic treks to Pima Air and Space Museum this morning, wanting to see if anything’s changed. The answer: not much.
A couple of recent stories in the news caught my eye and brought back memories.
The Air Force wants to train more new pilots and pump them out quicker. To achieve this goal, it’s making changes to its pilot training program.
The Afghan people could make a difference … if they wanted to. There comes a time to say fuck it and move on.
As you know, whenever there’s more to say, as a blogger I’m contractually obligated to say it!
I don’t do boats. I didn’t fly the Rafale. I’m not French. But this has to be the coolest video I’ve seen in a long while, and I want to share it.
I’m a blogger. I love to share, but I’ve learned to hold some things back.
It’s not that decision-makers ignore warnings. They know about them. But they also think about what acting on those warnings will cost, and what the odds are that predicted failures will ever come. Profit trumps safety every time.
