Peggin’ It

I’m planning a 10-day, 2,500-mile motorcycle trip in early May and have been concerned about my new knee’s ability to withstand the punishment. My friend Ed suggested replacing the highway pegs on my Goldwing with different ones … of which he just happened to have a spare pair laying around. And here they are:

Thursday Bag o’ Sea Change

Last night, Rachel Maddow played an audio tape from yesterday’s Supreme Court hearings on the Defense of Marriage Act. On the tape, Chief Justice Roberts and an attorney advocating for marriage equality argued over the reason behind the “sea change” in the American public’s attitude toward same-sex marriage. Roberts thought the increasing social acceptance of […]

Sunday Photoblogging

It’s so great to get back to normality. There’s really not much else to say about that. Treasure life while you’ve got it.

So what did we do on Sunday? Well, I rode to Sierra Vista and Tombstone with motorcyclist friends.

Air-Minded: Rotorhead Photoblogging

Fascination and fear: that sums up my relationship with helicopters. The thought of being able to take off and land vertically, and to hover at will, is entrancing: if I had the money I’d learn to fly one. Paul’s Movie Reviews

“Honey, could you hustle us up a couple of daiquiris and a cocktail weenie? On second thought, just bring the booze, I brought my own weenie. Oh, she’s offended. And she should be. I’m a pig. And I hate me. That’s what we have in common, nurse Ratched. We both hate me. ” — John […]

Tuesday Bag o’ Knees

Proving once again that you can find anything with Google image search, here is a literal bag o’ knees.

So what shall we blog about today? Knees, maybe? Yes, knees. I spent the weekend doing normal things: normal as in the kinds of things people with normal knees do. Walking and riding my motorcycle, mostly. […]

Game of Thrones Bogdown

Today is book club day. It’s my turn to host, so I’ve been helping clean up for company. We’re going to be talking about The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, which I reviewed here last week.

But this short post is not about that. It’s about the two books I’m currently reading, A […]

Friday Bag o’ Nothing

There’s no bag photo because there’s no bag. I’m free at last!

The antibiotic treatment ended yesterday. The PICC line is out … I watched the nurse pull it out, which was freaky in the extreme … and I’m pretty much back to normal. At physical therapy I’m getting over 120° of bend out of […]
