This is the time of year when print, television, radio, and online journalists take a break from the serious business of passing on corporate and government propaganda in order to put together “Best of 2011” lists.
I thought about making a list of my best blog posts for 2011, but who am I to say what my best posts are? That’s up to you, and your mileage may vary. Some of the things I treasure most will be the very things you treasure least.
Instead, I’m going to pick out my favorite post titles from 2011. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from blogging, it’s that naming a post is often more work than writing it. And who knows, a post’s title may sometimes be more important than what’s in it. The inset graphic at the left, by the way, is “Adam Naming the Animals,” religious art from the 12th century.
