Didn’t Know Crouton’s Kitchen Is a Restaurant? Neither Did We!

Comment received this morning from another cooking blog, Shungrill. Of course it’s spam, but the website it links to is harmless (as far as I can tell). I suspect Shungrill’s webmaster uses an AI agent to review and comment on restaurant websites and cooking blogs. “Emily Crouton,” indeed!

Checking the comment spam folder I find a similar one, this time from “shungrill.” So apparently there are multiple “shun” sites, probably AI-generated, put up in order to make money selling ad space. Like the spam comment from “shungrill,” this one’s tailored to my cooking blog, drawing details from one of the recipes posted here. Here it is, and with this I’ll stop posting about this annoying new trend in comment spam:

“Crouton’s Mothers’ Day Shrimp & Kielbasa Boil from Crouton’s Kitchen is a delightful and hearty celebration dish perfect for honoring moms on their special day. This boil combines the bold flavors of succulent shrimp and smoky kielbasa, creating a satisfying and festive meal. The recipe typically includes a mix of potatoes, corn on the cob, and onions, all boiled together in a seasoned broth infused with spices like Old Bay or Cajun seasoning, adding a zesty kick. The shrimp and kielbasa are added toward the end to ensure they remain tender and flavorful. Served family-style, this dish encourages a hands-on, communal dining experience, making it ideal for gatherings. Crouton’s Kitchen elevates the traditional boil with a thoughtful balance of ingredients, ensuring every bite is packed with flavor. It’s a warm, comforting, and celebratory meal that not only delights the palate but also creates cherished memories, making it a standout choice for Mothers’ Day or any special occasion”

p.s. Note that this spam comment, like the first one I quoted, omits a final period.
