A Short Update

The Gang of Three on Memorial Day.

We ordered joint support chews for Mister B, our senior citizen dachshund. I don’t expect instant results, because that’s certainly not how glucosamine/chondroitin ever works with me, but we hope it’ll help relieve some of the stiffness in his hips and limbs … he totters around as if he’s on peglegs, and not all that sure how to use them at that. He’s also a little confused sometimes, as in these photos, standing still as if wondering what it was he meant to do. Lulu and Fritzi, meanwhile, seem to be the picture of health.

Our pop-up sprinklers were in terrible shape, clogged with dirt somehow, and yesterday, with the help of Martín, our yard guy, we replaced them. Now maybe the grass will get a little greener. The pool, at least, is doing great, and that’s good because son Gregory and grandson Quentin plan to swim in it on Saturday, maybe daughter-in-law Beth as well. Oh, did I mention the Las Vegas Woodfords will be here this weekend?

Donna sometimes flies up to Las Vegas, usually on our son’s frequent flyer points, to spend weekends with the kids, and she may go up sometime in the next couple of months. Our next Las Vegas trip together will be in October, when granddaughter Taylor gets married. Thank god (and here I’m hoping Taylor doesn’t read my blog) it’s not a destination wedding … no way could we afford to go.

Meanwhile Polly, our live-at-home middle-aged daughter, remains unemployed. She’s still single, boys!

Sorry there’s not more today, but at least there’s something.
