Last one of the Christmas/New Year’s season, I think. Good thing, too, because as much fun as we’ve had, as much as we love our friends, we’re partied out and are ready to crawl back into our shells, like those DSL tortoises from the TV commercials (so much more interesting than Chad’s nerdy cell phone rivals).
There were ten of us, so we had to set up a card table with folding chairs. In the background with Donna are Dee, Mary Anne, and Lois. Schatzi’s in there too, I notice.
The main dish was a salad with grilled salmon and avacado dressing. The recipe’s on Crouton’s Kitchen, my cooking blog, if you’re interested. We also had steamed veggies, roasted chicken, and a corn casserole. Oh, and plenty of wine, as you can see.
Above, John and Lorri, Darrell and Lois. The party was for Lorri’s and Darrell’s birthdays, but Darrell, being ancient, got the balloon, while Lorri had to settle for a ribbon.
Excuse me now, I’m going to pull in my head and pretend I’m a DSL tortoise for a month or so.
