Everybody’s seen Easy Rider, right?
So Donna and I were flipping through channels the other night, and we caught the last half hour of Easy Rider on American Movie Classics. Something struck me as really odd, and I’m wondering if anyone else saw the same thing.
There’s Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and the two prostitutes in the New Orleans cemetary, tripping on acid, and one of the prostitutes is naked, standing between two above-ground crypts, when – just briefly – she faces the camera. I expected that scene to be cut, but it wasn’t. The girl’s naked, pubic hair and all. On AMC.
Then, a few minutes later, as Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper are riding through bayou country, two rednecks in a pickup truck pass them, and one of the rednecks yells at Dennis Hopper to get a haircut, and Dennis Hopper flips him off. Remember that scene?
AMC fuzzed out Dennis Hopper’s hand so you couldn’t see him flipping the bird!
WTFO? AMC airs a full frontal nude shot of a woman and censors Dennis Hopper’s finger?
I don’t understand what’s up with that. I don’t understand at all. Someone please tell me I didn’t just imagine it, okay?
