Last Jaguar in the United States

The last jaguar in the United States was caught in an Arizona Fish & Game Department trap in late February.  They put a radio collar on the animal and released it.  They captured it again about two weeks later.

You know where this is going, don’t you?  Sure you do!

Arizona Fish & Game decided the cat was suffering from kidney failure and euthanized it.

Of course!  What other option could there possibly have been?  What other outcome would have been imaginable?

p.s. This is not the first time Arizona Fish & Game has killed the last jaguar in the United States.  I guess practice makes perfect.
