{"id":1195,"date":"2011-07-08T08:20:37","date_gmt":"2011-07-08T15:20:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/cookblog\/?p=1195"},"modified":"2016-12-31T09:25:53","modified_gmt":"2016-12-31T16:25:53","slug":"ditalinis-potato-cheese-casserole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pwoodford.net\/cookblog\/?p=1195","title":{"rendered":"Ditalini&#8217;s Potato &#038; Cheese Casserole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ditalini made this casserole for our neighborhood 4th of July brunch last year, and everyone loved it.\u00a0She made it again this year, but it was not the only potato &amp; cheese casserole at the brunch: several neighbors prepared variations of it, so there was plenty to go around.\u00a0Call me prejudiced, but Ditalini&#8217;s was the tastiest, and I think it&#8217;s because she uses unfashionably cheap and unhealthy ingredients.\u00a0I&#8217;m talkin&#8217; about Cheez Whiz\u00ae here &#8230; c&#8217;mon, you know you love it!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 lbs frozen hash brown potatoes<\/li>\n<li>8 oz Cheez Whiz<\/li>\n<li>8 oz sour cream<\/li>\n<li>1 can condensed cream of chicken soup<\/li>\n<li>1 stick butter<\/li>\n<li>1 bunch green onions, chopped<\/li>\n<li>6 slices bacon, cooked &amp; crumbled<\/li>\n<li>salt &amp; pepper to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mix sour cream, butter, soup, and Cheez Whiz in saucepan, heat on low until melted.\u00a0Fry bacon and set aside.\u00a0Grease an 11&#8243; by 13&#8243; casserole with butter.\u00a0Spread potatoes &amp; green onions in casserole.\u00a0Pour sauce mixture over top, cover with foil, bake at 350\u00b0 for 35-45 minutes.
