GOP Debate Audience Boos Contraception<\/a>.\u00a0 Oh give me a break!\u00a0 Nearly everyone in that audience uses contraception or has a spouse who does, and none of them are planning to give it up.\u00a0 So what are they really booing?<\/p>\n

They’re booing the other tribe: liberals, Democrats, progressives, those hippies down in Tucson.\u00a0 A rough translation of that booing would come out something like this: “If they’re for it we’re against it, even though we’re really not.\u00a0 We’ll let a zealot like Santorum take our birth control pills away, just to spite them.”<\/p>\n

Well, that and racism, the thought that the restrictions on personal choice and freedoms they’re rooting for will be applied to blacks and hispanics, but not to them.<\/p>\n

The thing is, nearly all of the people in that debate audience are going to vote next November, and they’re going to vote along tribal lines.\u00a0 We can’t let their tribe win.\u00a0 It’s that simple.<\/p>\n

That’s all the political news I can stand right now.<\/p>\n

Personal news?\u00a0 Sure, let’s go there instead.<\/p>\n

Yesterday the air museum recertified me as a walking tour docent.\u00a0 As I conducted my regular tour for 20 or so visitors, the head docent tagged along and took notes.\u00a0 He caught me in two mistakes: I said Orville Wright’s first flight lasted 8 seconds when it was really 12, and I said the Lockheed Skunkworks built a couple of dozen Quiet Star spy planes when the real number was more like 13.\u00a0 I’m just glad I didn’t make more mistakes than that!<\/p>\n

I cross-posted one of my earlier flying stories to Daily Kos<\/a>.\u00a0 Yes, there are some aviation-minded folks mixed in with the commies over there.\u00a0 They seem to have enjoyed the story, so I’ll probably cross-post others.\u00a0 This one was about my experience in the centrifuge, and it prompted a couple of dKos readers to speculate about the anti-gravity drive we’re no doubt testing at Area 51 … wouldn’t that<\/em> be nice to have in a fighter, eh?<\/p>\n

This morning I took Donna’s desktop PC to a local computer shop to have additional RAM installed.\u00a0 I hate spending money on it because it’s going to die soon.\u00a0 Ditto mine.\u00a0 What do you suppose your total annual connectivity expense is?\u00a0 Computers, software, ISPs, DSL cable, telephony, etc.\u00a0 Do you want to know?\u00a0 I’m not sure I do.\u00a0 I know I don’t want to be without it, though.<\/p>\n

Donna’s away in California and Polly’s working every day, so I have the house to myself.\u00a0 It’s lonely, is what it is.\u00a0 I’m not cut out for the life of a hermit.<\/p>\n
