{"id":711,"date":"2008-10-20T09:30:07","date_gmt":"2008-10-20T16:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=711"},"modified":"2008-10-24T08:11:09","modified_gmt":"2008-10-24T15:11:09","slug":"monday-morning-photoblogging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=711","title":{"rendered":"Monday Morning Photoblogging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Is that anything like Monday morning quarterbacking?\u00a0 No, I guess not.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_712\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-712\" style=\"width: 425px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-712\" title=\"10-20-08_1\" src=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/10-20-08_1.jpg\" alt=\"Trail Trash at the Snake Bridge\" width=\"425\" height=\"374\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-712\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Trail Trash at the Snake Bridge<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We take different routes on our Saturday morning <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=291\" target=\"_self\">Trail Trash<\/a> rides.\u00a0 One of our favorites is to ride a little-used bike path from the air base to downtown Tucson, stop for coffee at a sidewalk cafe on 4th Avenue, then reverse course back to the park.\u00a0 The best part of the ride is crossing over Tucson&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roadsideamerica.com\/tip\/6616\" target=\"_blank\">Snake Bridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m on the subject of bicycling, I have to cross-post a photo from my <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/\" target=\"_blank\">hashing blog<\/a>.\u00a0 This is our friend Linda, who took a spill during yesterday&#8217;s<a href=\"http:\/\/pedalfiles.4t.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> bicycle hash<\/a>:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_714\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-714\" style=\"width: 425px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-714\" title=\"10-20-08_3\" src=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/10-20-08_3.jpg\" alt=\"Bicycling is not for the faint of heart\" width=\"425\" height=\"319\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-714\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bicycling is not for the faint of heart<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Things you see while <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/?page_id=13\" target=\"_blank\">hashing<\/a>: years ago we ran a trail in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vail,_Arizona\" target=\"_blank\">Vail, Arizona<\/a>.\u00a0 We stopped for a <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/?page_id=204\" target=\"_self\">beer check<\/a> at an old graveyard by the side of some railroad tracks.\u00a0 A sign hanging on the fence identified it as the &#8220;railroad children cemetery.&#8221;\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been trying to find out about the railroad children ever since, with no success.\u00a0 My best guess?\u00a0 Vail was once a railroad town, and a lot of children died during the great influenza of 1918.\u00a0 Anyway, when I was driving around photographing <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?page_id=5\" target=\"_self\">billboards<\/a> last month, I took a little hike and found the cemetery again.\u00a0 The sign is now missing, alas:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_715\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-715\" style=\"width: 425px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-715\" title=\"10-20-08_2\" src=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/10-20-08_2.jpg\" alt=\"Railroad Childrens' Graveyard, Vail, Arizona\" width=\"425\" height=\"319\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-715\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Railroad Children Cemetery, Vail, Arizona<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: red;\">Update (10\/24\/08):<\/span><\/em> Linda (she of the knee, above) tracked down an Arizona graveyard historian.\u00a0 I hope to have more information on the railroad children soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is that anything like Monday morning quarterbacking?\u00a0 No, I guess not.
