float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 135px; height: 86px;\" title=\"wienermobile\" src=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/wienermobile1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>This is awkward.\u00a0 My daughter and I are Facebook friends.\u00a0 I have learned to read her Facebook updates the same way educated North Koreans have learned to read the propaganda articles in Rodong Sinmun, as an indication of where the Kim regime&#8217;s collective head is at.\u00a0 When my daughter starts posting intense rants, I know a change of psychic weather&#8217;s coming.<\/p>\n<p>Too much information?\u00a0 Probably.\u00a0 Hey, at least I didn&#8217;t share photos of myself in my skivvies.\u00a0 Speaking of underwear &#8230; oh, never mind, let&#8217;s don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Donna and I are heading to the base this morning.\u00a0 We&#8217;re stocking up on groceries and replacement wiper blades.\u00a0 I wonder how much longer military bases in the USA will continue to offer commissary and exchange services?\u00a0 The prices and selection of goods are almost the same as they are off-base, and I just don&#8217;t know how the military manages to justify these programs.\u00a0 Probably the same way the oil companies manage to justify drilling subsidies &#8230; by invoking sacred tradition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2011\/06\/06\/137009154\/unschooled-how-one-kid-is-grateful-he-stayed-home\" target=\"_blank\">NPR report on the &#8220;unschooling&#8221; movement<\/a> left me sputtering in rage.\u00a0 Yes, indeed, I bet that self-centered 16-year-old twerp is &#8220;grateful he stayed home.&#8221; Apparently he occupied his time with video games, eventually teaching himself to read at the age of 10 in order to learn more about a game that interested him, and just recently undertook the &#8220;daunting task&#8221; of learning to spell.<\/p>\n<p>I remember, back in our college days, a young mother scolding us for reminding her daughter to say &#8220;thank you&#8221; after we&#8217;d given the kid a treat.\u00a0 I wonder if that mother ever sent the child to school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>My takeaway from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theawl.com\/2011\/06\/anthony-weiner-sad-man-likes-to-flirt-on-computer\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Wiener&#8217;s confession<\/a>?\u00a0 Believe every bit of gossip you hear &#8230;
