and keep the books.\u00a0 How cool is that?\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/slideshow\/2008\/01\/31\/arts\/0201-VIDA_index.html\" target=\"_blank\">More info here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/ala\/issuesadvocacy\/banned\/frequentlychallenged\/challengesbytype\/index.cfm\" target=\"blank\">interesting graphs from the American Library Association<\/a>, breaking out in visual form book challenges by year, reason, initiator, and institution.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve linked to so many newspaper articles about parents challenging  books on school reading lists, I&#8217;m almost ready to give up.\u00a0 They just  keep coming.\u00a0 This one stands out, though, because it goes into such  detail.\u00a0 It&#8217;s from Canada, and involves a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shorelinebeacon.com\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3138497\" target=\"blank\">parental challenge to Timothy Findley&#8217;s <em>The Wars<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I started a <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=2749\">personal banned books project<\/a> in 2009, reading &amp;
