I went to the annual Tucson Classics car show at St. Gregory’s Preparatory School this morning.\u00a0 As usual, I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos.\u00a0 Last year I concentrated on classic grilles and engines; this year I thought I’d concentrate on automotive lore from rock’n’roll.\u00a0 Like this:<\/p>\n

Son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that hot rod Lincoln! -- Arkie Shibley and his Mountain Dew Boys<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Lincolns were huge, heavy cars; you rarely saw one rodded.\u00a0 What the famous song referred to was the practice of dropping a big Lincoln V-8 or V-12 engine into a Ford Model A frame.\u00a0 This one is a V-12 (count the plugs, not the pipes).<\/p>\n
