Click on photo for story.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Is that a photo of a man&#8217;s butt on the cover?\u00a0 Your book has just been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/online\/blogs\/books\/2010\/08\/banned-book-bummer.html\" target=\"_blank\">banned in Canada<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>A new front in the fight against censorship: <a href=\"http:\/\/pcsweeney.wordpress.com\/2010\/08\/25\/guerrilla-librarianship-fights-the-good-fight-redefining-libraries-part-3-library\/\" target=\"_blank\">guerrilla libraries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bummer.\u00a0 The small-brainers in Stockton, Missouri have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news-leader.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=%2F201009090257%2FNEWS04%2F9090375\" target=\"_blank\">won a round<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That teen lit festival that &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.schoollibraryjournal.com\/slj\/home\/886402-312\/ellen_hopkins_uninvited_to_lit.html.csp\" target=\"_blank\">uninvited<\/a>&#8221; a guest author and sparked a boycott by other authors?\u00a0 It&#8217;s been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hcnonline.com\/articles\/2010\/08\/25\/atascocita_observer\/news\/34aoauthor.txt\" target=\"_blank\">canceled<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A disbarred lawyer is seeking to have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcmag.com\/article2\/0,2817,2368824,00.asp\" target=\"_blank\">a computer game banned<\/a> from sale in America. With the constitution and all, that might be a tall order.\u00a0 Not for the <a href=\"http:\/\/videogames.yahoo.com\/events\/plugged-in\/military-bans-video-game-that-kills-us-troops\/1410232\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Defense<\/a>, though, which seems to be exempt from the rules that govern the rest of us.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of our censorship-friendly military, not only won&#8217;t American troops be able to buy that computer game in base exchanges, neither will they be able to access <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geek.com\/articles\/news\/the-pentagon-bans-all-military-access-to-wikileaks-2010086\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wikileaks<\/a>, nor will they be able to watch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.navytimes.com\/news\/2010\/09\/military-tillman-movie-not-at-aafes-090310w\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Tillman Story<\/a> at base theaters.<\/p>\n<p>Since I mentioned movies, here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_banned_films\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia&#8217;s exhaustive list of banned films<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To steer us back to the topic of banned books, here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_books_banned_by_governments\" target=\"_blank\">another exhaustive Wikipedia list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Well, that was depressing . . .
