{"id":3683,"date":"2010-03-09T10:32:27","date_gmt":"2010-03-09T17:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=3683"},"modified":"2010-03-09T10:49:02","modified_gmt":"2010-03-09T17:49:02","slug":"why-thank-you-im-feeling-much-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=3683","title":{"rendered":"Why Thank You, I&#8217;m Feeling Much Better"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thank god!\u00a0 Since when do colds last a month?\u00a0 Didn&#8217;t they used to be over in, like, two weeks?\u00a0 Maybe I&#8217;m just older and weaker.\u00a0 Maybe the common cold has evolved into something more sinister.\u00a0 Either way, I&#8217;m happy to be getting back to normal.\u00a0 It helps that it&#8217;s also a beautiful day in Tucson.<\/p>\n<p>Our dog Schatzi is undergoing a 15-day course of medication for an ear infection.\u00a0 We have to administer pills, an ear flush, and ointment.\u00a0 The pills are twice a day for five days, once a day for five days, then once every other day for five days.\u00a0 She gets her ears flushed once every other day for two weeks.\u00a0 The ear ointment is twice a day for two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The pills are easy . . . I roll them into a pea-sized pellet of cat food, which she loves above all other foods.\u00a0 But the ear medication, with the attendant manhandling and pulling and uncomfortable wet stuff dripping down into ear canals, well, to her that&#8217;s enhanced interrogation.\u00a0 Schatzi fought it at first, but her essential good nature has taken over and now she sits quietly while I flush her ear canals and drip ointment into them.\u00a0 Schatzi is a good citizen because she wants to be.\u00a0 I love our girl.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll reward her with a road trip to Las Vegas this Thursday.\u00a0 While we&#8217;re there (we&#8217;re staying until Monday), we&#8217;ll celebrate both our kids&#8217; birthdays (Gregory&#8217;s is tomorrow, Polly&#8217;s is on the 16th).\u00a0 Gregory has once again arranged to borrow a brace of Beemers, this time (I think) a <a href=\"http:\/\/content.eaglerider.com\/Vehicles\/BMW-K1200LT.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">K1200LT<\/a> and an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.motorcyclenews.com\/upload\/203992\/images\/R1200GSA.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">R1200GSA<\/a>.\u00a0 So expect photos and a ride report soon.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=2104\" target=\"_self\">link to our previous BB (borrowed-BMW)<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=2104\" target=\"_blank\"> ride report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I took a stab at Thai curry last night, so be sure to check it out on my <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/cookblog\/?p=905\" target=\"_blank\">cooking blog<\/a>.\u00a0 It was every bit as good as the curries I get in Thai restaurants, so I&#8217;m rather proud of myself.\u00a0 In case you can&#8217;t tell.<\/p>\n<p>The Goldwing is making come-hither noises, and there are errands to run.\u00a0 For the first time in weeks, I feel like riding and running errands!\u00a0 More soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank god!\u00a0 Since when do colds last a month?\u00a0 Didn&#8217;t they used to be over in, like, two weeks?\u00a0 Maybe I&#8217;m just older and weaker.\u00a0 Maybe the common cold has evolved into something more sinister.\u00a0 Either way, I&#8217;m happy to be getting back to normal.\u00a0 It helps that it&#8217;s also a beautiful day in Tucson.
