Donna&#8217;s celebrating her birthday in Las Vegas, courtesy of Gregory, Beth, and the grandkids. I gave Donna a <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=326\" target=\"_self\">new road bike<\/a>, but it was an early present. She started riding it two months ago and it&#8217;s already scuffed up. Now I feel as if I&#8217;m still on the hook for a gift.\u00a0 Ha!\u00a0 See if I do that again next year, woman!<\/p>\n<p>By the way, Donna&#8217;s 62 now and eligible for Social Security.\u00a0 All too soon, I&#8217;ll be there too.<\/p>\n<p>Some folks in the DC area are\u00a0starting up an American <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/?page_id=13\" target=\"_blank\">hashing<\/a> magazine.\u00a0 They&#8217;ve asked me to write an article for the inaugural issue.\u00a0 The deadline&#8217;s tight, so naturally I&#8217;ll put it off until the absolute last minute.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the Tucson high was 104.\u00a0 Friday afternoon we were\u00a0down in the low 60s, and it snowed on the mountains.\u00a0 Although it&#8217;s warming up again, today&#8217;s highs will only reach the mid-80s.\u00a0 It was\u00a0cold enough this morning to justify postponing our weekly <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=291\" target=\"_self\">Trail Trash<\/a> bicycle ride; we&#8217;ll try Monday morning instead.<\/p>\n<p>Places that sound so cool you know they have to be shitholes: Vella Lavella; \u00cele des Pins. Gee, this could be the start of a meme.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, time to do some writin&#8217;.
