{"id":334,"date":"2008-04-27T08:07:43","date_gmt":"2008-04-27T15:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=334"},"modified":"2008-11-30T14:33:57","modified_gmt":"2008-11-30T21:33:57","slug":"what-goes-down-must-come-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=334","title":{"rendered":"What Goes Down Must Come Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another Saturday, another <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=291\" target=\"_self\">Trail Trash<\/a> ride.\u00a0 This time our daughter Polly joined us, so we celebrated by doubling our normal mileage (from 9 to 18).\u00a0 Our new destination?\u00a0 The Rincon General Store, down the hill on Old Spanish Trail.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1112\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1112\" style=\"width: 425px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1112\" title=\"04-26-08_1\" src=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/04-26-08_1.jpg\" alt=\"At the Rincon Store: Chris, Polly, Paul, Donna, Linda, Darrell\" width=\"425\" height=\"319\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1112\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">At the Rincon Store: Chris, Polly, Paul, Donna, Linda, Darrell<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As this entry&#8217;s title suggests, the return trip was mostly uphill, so we stopped at Saguaro Park East for a breather.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1114\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1114\" style=\"width: 425px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1114\" title=\"04-26-08_2\" src=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/04-26-08_2.jpg\" alt=\"Donna and Paul at the Saguaro Park ramada\" width=\"425\" height=\"460\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1114\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Donna and Paul at the Saguaro Park ramada<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We had agreed to try a new place for our post-ride coffee and pastries, a French bakery (cue ominous music) owned by French people.\u00a0 The lady behind the counter was\u00a0almost comically rude . . . talk about confirmed stereotypes.\u00a0 From now on we stick with our regular coffee shop.<\/p>\n<p>Nor was there any rest for the wicked after our ride.\u00a0 Donna, Polly, and I spent the rest of the afternoon emptying the garage and erecting shelving.\u00a0 Today&#8217;s project?\u00a0 Refilling the garage.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1115\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1115\" style=\"width: 425px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1115\" title=\"04-26-08_3\" src=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/04-26-08_3.jpg\" alt=\"Out of chaos, slightly less chaos\" width=\"425\" height=\"324\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1115\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Out of chaos, slightly less chaos<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This last bit should be titled What Goes Up Must Come Down:<\/p>\n<p>Before driving back to Phoenix, Polly asked me to install a larger RAM stick in her laptop.\u00a0 I read the instructions and successfully located the RAM slot, but couldn&#8217;t get it to pivot up so that I could put the new stick in . . . at least not without forcing\u00a0and possibly damaging it.\u00a0 Polly left, RAM stick still uninstalled, faced with having to pay some techie in a computer store to do what I could not.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m at an age where there&#8217;s very little I can still teach my children.\u00a0 There was a time when I knew everything and could fix anything.\u00a0 Well, Donna never thought so, but the kids did.\u00a0 Thank God for Schatzi!\u00a0 As far as she&#8217;s concerned, I&#8217;m the man!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another Saturday, another Trail Trash ride.\u00a0 This time our daughter Polly joined us, so we celebrated by doubling our normal mileage (from 9 to 18).\u00a0 Our new destination?\u00a0 The Rincon General Store, down the hill on Old Spanish Trail.
