{"id":315,"date":"2008-02-23T07:51:24","date_gmt":"2008-02-23T14:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=315"},"modified":"2008-03-02T20:29:35","modified_gmt":"2008-03-03T03:29:35","slug":"saturday-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=315","title":{"rendered":"Saturday Morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If updates have been sparse lately, it&#8217;s not due to laziness.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve started a new project for the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/\">Half-Mind Weblog<\/a>, interviewing hashers who&#8217;ve had an influence of hashing and hashers.\u00a0 Hashing?\u00a0 Hashers?\u00a0 You can read about that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/?page_id=13\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, non-hashing life goes on, and I need to get back to blogging about it.\u00a0 We&#8217;re up early this Saturday morning.\u00a0 The bicycles are pumped up and ready to go.\u00a0 For a change, the <a href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=291\">Trail Trash<\/a> meets at our house today.\u00a0 Donna and I mapped out a new route in our own neighborhood, one that takes us over a couple of hills to a nearby park with natural springs, and as a bonus, not one but three water crossings.\u00a0 Should be fun, unless one or more us us get swept away by\u00a0raging torrents.<\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t embrace &#8220;Tucson&#8221; and &#8220;water&#8221; in the same thought, but here in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, rain and snow from higher elevations drain down through arroyos (locally called washes): we&#8217;ll criss-cross one this morning.\u00a0 The springs in the park are\u00a0replenished by the same water.\u00a0 Another month or so and the washes will be dry, but the spring keeps going year round.<\/p>\n<p>I added something new to the sidebar, a list of DVDs we&#8217;re watching or plan to watch.\u00a0 Blogs are supposed to be personal, right?\u00a0 I got the idea from another blog, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ciderpresshill.com\/\">Cider Press Hill<\/a>, so there . . . credit where credit&#8217;s due.<\/p>\n<p>Now if I were really brave I&#8217;d add a list of the books I&#8217;m reading and plan to read, but I know I&#8217;d leave out the crap novels I actually read and substitute titles of terribly erudite books I have no intention of reading, just to appear smarter.\u00a0 Movies, though . . .\u00a0aren&#8217;t we all dummies when it comes to movies?<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of which, may I confess that I love Steven Seagal movies?\u00a0 Can&#8217;t stand Chuck Norris or Jean-Claude Van Damme, or any other sort of martial arts movie, but I love watching Steve.\u00a0 Especially now that he&#8217;s getting old, stiff, and fat.\u00a0 When he fights he just sort of stands in the middle of the scene while someone off-camera uses a circus cannon to shoot small Asian men at him, hard enough that they bounce off when they hit him.\u00a0 Steven Seagal kicks ass!<\/p>\n<p>Okay, the first member of the Trail Trash just drove up.\u00a0 Time to ride.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If updates have been sparse lately, it&#8217;s not due to laziness.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve started a new project for the Half-Mind Weblog, interviewing hashers who&#8217;ve had an influence of hashing and hashers.\u00a0 Hashing?\u00a0 Hashers?\u00a0 You can read about that here.
