That&#8217;s a milestone, isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p>I climbed on the wagon on the 13th of March, 2007, a few days short of Saint Patrick&#8217;s Day, which has become the day I celebrate quitting. I didn&#8217;t make a fuss about it for a couple of years, waiting to make sure I&#8217;d\u00a0go the distance. Since then I&#8217;ve marked the anniversary on Paul&#8217;s Thing with\u00a0\u00c9irinn go Bragh entries.\u00a0Today&#8217;s title, \u00c9irinn go C\u00faig D\u00e9ag, roughly translates as Ireland to Fifteen, which doesn&#8217;t make a lick of sense in Gaelic or English, but there you go.<\/p>\n<p>Am I glad I quit drinking? I celebrate every morning, when I roll out of bed refreshed and clear-headed. Yes. Best decision I ever made.<\/p>\n<p>Donna&#8217;s making corned beef and cabbage today, as is only right. This time, I&#8217;m cutting off an end to save for home-made corned beef hash, which I&#8217;ll cook up for breakfast later in the week.
