{"id":230,"date":"2007-05-04T18:24:55","date_gmt":"2007-05-05T01:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=230"},"modified":"2007-07-07T13:09:42","modified_gmt":"2007-07-07T20:09:42","slug":"230","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pwoodford.net\/blog\/?p=230","title":{"rendered":"In Which I Cry Uncle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several years ago, when the internet consisted of a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Series_of_tubes\" title=\"Series of Tubes\">single tube<\/a>,\u00a0an uncle discovered my <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/?page_id=13\" title=\"Description of HHH\">Hash House Harrier<\/a> web site, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/half-mind.com\/\" title=\"Link to HMC\">Half-Mind Catalog<\/a>.\u00a0 He bypassed the serious stuff and went straight to the dirtiest, filthiest, nastiest page on the site, something I&#8217;d put up for the amusement of\u00a0my dirty, filthy, nasty friends.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote, not to praise my skills as an on-line editor but to tell me\u00a0he was shocked . . . literally brought to tears\u00a0. . .\u00a0by my sinfulness, and to tell me he&#8217;d pray for my salvation.<\/p>\n<p>Last night he registered at my blog.\u00a0 No, not this one, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\/hashblog\/\" title=\"Half-Mind Weblog\">other one<\/a>.\u00a0 The dirty, filthy, nasty one!<\/p>\n<p>You know, when I put both blogs on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/pwoodford.net\" title=\"Link to pwoodford.net\">pwoodford.net<\/a>, a friend told me it was a bad idea.\u00a0 Being too cheap to pay for another domain, I went ahead with a flawed plan.\u00a0 But I must say, in my own defense, that my decision to write two blogs, separating the raunchy stuff from the serious stuff, derived in part\u00a0from that avuncular\u00a0experience.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote as soon as I got the registration notice, suggesting to my uncle that he skip the bad blog and register instead at the good blog.\u00a0 But it&#8217;s probably too late . . .
