Donna:<\/em> (at her computer) “Oh-kay . . .”<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> (waiting).<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> “You know that thing?”<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> “Ummm.”<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> (silence).<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> (trying to recapture the blog thought bubble).<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> “That thing on the thing.”<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> “What thing on what thing?”<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> “Is there a country called Ching?”<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> “?”<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> (getting up and showing me a hand-written list of countries an embroidery customer had given her, pointing to Ching).<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> “Well, that has to be China.\u00a0 There’s no country called Ching.”<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> (goes back to her computer).<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> (resuming work on blog entry).<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> “How do you spell Borneo?”<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> “B-o-r-n-e-o.”<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> (now playing solitaire): “Shit!”<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> (bubble gone again, considering playing solitaire myself).<\/p>\n

Donna:<\/em> “What country is Santurina?”<\/p>\n

Me:<\/em> “I think you should just call the guy who wrote you that list.”<\/p>\n
