When a certain type of executive or senior military officer talks about “respect” and “loyalty,” what he invariably means is “total support” and “no dissent.” He cannot abide disagreement; he surrounds himself with yes men in order to keep reality at bay.<\/p>\n

I’ve always felt George W. Bush is such a man, and everything I’ve heard in the last few days – the resignations, the planned replacements – strengthens this impression. The government, at least for the next four years, will be run by GWB’s yes men.<\/p>\n

As Wonkette<\/a> says, “Yes, well . . . dissent is overrated, anyway. Are we the only ones who think that Bush’s ideal cabinet would actually be made up of the Iraqi leadership council?
