A New Site for Tucson’s Orphan Hashes

Update (7/25/10): I wasn’t happy with the calendar I originally selected for OnOnTucson because it was slow to load and primitive looking.  This morning I built a new calendar with Google.  Here’s a screen capture (click on it to go to the actual calendar):

Original entry (7/19/10): At least one rider didn’t make yesterday’s Pedalfiles bash because it wasn’t listed on the jHavelina H3 calendar at hashingtucson.com.  Until about a month ago the calendar listed all Tucson area hashing events, not only jHavelina hashes but also hashes put on by Mr. Happy’s H3, PISS H3, Pima County Traditional H3, Desert Divas H3, Harriers MCH3, and Pedalfiles H3.  Now it lists only jHavelina and Mr. Happy’s events.  Well, it’s their calendar, but it’s a shame that Tucson area hashers who’ve come to depend on the calendar can no longer get all their information in one place.

With that in mind, I launched OnOnTucson for Tucson’s niche hashing community.  OnOnTucson covers the Pima Independent Sunday Social H3, Pedalfiles H3, Harriers MCH3, Pima County Traditional H3, and the Desert Divas H3.  It’s still under development, but all the links work and the calendar lists all events for the five smaller Tucson area hashes.

I hope we can work our way back into the good graces of the jHavelina H3 calendar-keeper, but whether or not that happens I plan to keep the new site running and up to date.  Please surf over and check it out, and if you’re the event scheduler for any of the small hashes, please keep me informed. Us orphans gotta stick together!

- As a child Flying Booger suspected, based on the strained looks his “parents” occasionally exchanged, that he was an orphan.
