Seasonal Madness

Every year about this time Donna goes crazy over gingerbread houses.  Old school gingerbread houses — Donna makes the dough, rolls it out in sheets, cuts forms for walls, doors, window shutters, roofs, and chimneys, puts them together with frosting, then invites kids over to help decorate them.  When our own daughter Polly gets involved, the madness reaches a fever pitch.

Last night’s gingerbread house-builder was Faith, granddaughter of friends.  Here she is, doing it the old-fashioned way:

Faith and Polly starting on the roof with Necco wafers
Faith is getting into it (Donna in background with more frosting)
Faith with the completed house (yes, she got to take it home for later consumption)
